About the Job

You are a highly experienced senior software engineer with a passion for both business knowledge and software programming?

Then we want you to contribute to our product, which has been built using Go on the backend. You will work with a cutting-edge technology stack and will have the opportunity to apply your deep technological and methodological knowledge.

As part of an ambitious and international development team, you will work in a team which applies a Scrumban methodology in the development process, operating in weekly sprints with brief daily, virtual stand-ups.

Besides backend development, you will be deeply involved in the design process - we are looking forward to your innovative ideas and creative problem-solving skills when working on new, challenging tasks.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

1. extend and improve our backend using state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies

2. understand the business processes of our clients and the business concepts behind, in order to be able to propose solutions that solve the needs of our clients

3. contribute to the technological development of our product by promoting new, fresh ideas and by participating in the definition of our technology stack

4. concept and architect our backend with scalability and security in mind

5. conduct technical feasibility assessments to find efficient solutions for a given problem, e.g. by creating PoCs and prototypes for cutting-edge features

6. write unit and integration tests to ensure code robustness and review your peers’ code to keep our code base clean and extensible

7. limited on-call production support by participating in on-call rotations for our product

8. work collaboratively and proactively with your fellow frontend, backend and DevOps colleagues to ensure a flawless delivery

9. support our product owner with architectural and technological advice

Skills and Experience

What we are looking for:

1. a master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business informatics or similar

2. 5+ years of professional backend development experience

3. 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing large-scale SaaS applications, complex backend API’s and microservices using Golang

4. very good knowledge of GORM and PostgreSQL is a must (familiarity with CockroachDB is highly appreciated), NoSQL is a plus, NATS is an advantage

5. a solid understanding of multi-tier architectures and microservices (load balancers, caching, web servers, application servers, networking, databases)

6. skilled with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, a solid understanding of version control principles, CI/CD pipelines (GitLab is a plus) and DevOps

7. experience in troubleshooting and profiling systems and familiarity with monitoring and alerting solutions like Prometheus + Grafana is a plus

8. living within the EU (DACH preferred)

9. full professional proficiency in English (spoken and written) - German language skills are a big plus

10. previous experience in a (PropTech) startup or the real estate industry would be an advantage
